Bio
Practice
Dr. Cheryl L. Howard is a fully licensed, board certified
physician with more than 13 years’ experience in family
practice emphasizing osteopathic manipulative medicine.

Dr. Howard was born in Texas City, Texas in 1958 and
raised in nearby Dickinson. After graduating high school,
she attended The University of Texas, where she was a
member of the volleyball team. While working out with
the team, she became ill.  This experience inspired her
to pursue a career in the medical field.

She graduated from The University of Houston/Clear Lake in 1983 and began work at the
University of Texas medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Howard graduated from Texas College
of Osteopathic Medicine in 1989 and then completed her internship in the Dallas area in
1990.  She  then  began  working  with  a  Physical  Medicine  and Rehabilitation physician
and working in Family/Minor Emergency clinic in the Dallas area.  In 1991, she returned to
the Houston area and became Medical Director of a Family/Minor Emergency clinic. She
also began her private practice  in  Osteopathic  manipulation  that same year, working with
a dentist  that  specialized  in  Temporalmandibular Joint Dysfunction.

Since 1998, Dr. Howard has worked exclusively in her private practice, focusing on treating
her patients with osteopathic manipulative medicine. She has established relationships in the
health care community  with  practitioners  in Homeopathy, Naturopathy, clinical nutrition,
physical therapy and physicians in many specialties.  She  considers her patients’ conditions
from all aspects  and  then  determines  the  best  path  to  promote their maximum health
potential.  Dr. Howard’s  philosophy is to  treat her patients as she would treat a member of
her own family and, more importantly, to listen to what each patient has to say.

Dr. Howard appreciates  the  strength  of  family,  with  most of her family and extended
family in the Houston area. A golfer for more than 30 years, Dr. Howard fuels her sense of
adventure with activities such as scuba diving over 10 years ago and surfing. She also
enjoys continuing to try new things,  traveling and exploring the outdoors whenever she can,
and relishes opportunities to experience things for the first time.
